| Posted over 5 years ago I think success is achieving the goals you have set for yourself. It's not measured by money or degrees to me. |

| Posted over 5 years ago success is a hard thing to describe for me. here is a quote my insrtuctore implanted into us religiously... "Success is peace of mind in knowing that you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming." i believe just that. success to me and in my life is unmeasurable. i have grown and done so much that i honestly no big head here, but from my background i think i have done myself well. i grew up in foster care and my brothers have both been in trouble with the law and i seem like the only one out of my family who is some what normal.. and i am the only one to graduate school. to me that is succesful, and i think that success is finding who you are and reaching the stars and when you grab that one you've been eyeing for a while then you can be successful. |

| Posted over 5 years ago Success is feeling physically and mentally complete, even when times are tough. If you can make it through the worst day of your life and still pull something positive from it, you are a success in my eyes! |

| Posted over 5 years ago Oh my! Another topic that could eat up hours of my time. I mean... isn't this what we all strive for? (whatever the individual definition is as perceived by the person attempting to get that incredible feeling). And, as it says above... there is much to be said about overcoming adversity. (but how will anyone know the adversity you've overcome if you don't tell them?.... and how can you tell them without becoming a "victim"?) So many have spoken so eloquently about success over the years.. it has truly become an individualized concept. How can anyone else determine what success is... for you? Well... before I blather on any further... I'd like to offer two thoughts... then I have to get back to my daily quest of achieving this very topic. Here they are... and BOTH are MUCH easier said than done: 1) "Crystallize your goals. Make a plan for achieving them and set yourself a deadline. Then, with supreme confidence, determination, and disregard for other people's criticisms, carry out your plan." - Paul J. Meyer
And again.. without trying to be a "victim", I'd love to relieve my goose-bumps (brought on by the above posts) and say I agree with all of you above.... I just learned, yesterday, that my ex is going to withhold my 3 precious children from me this Christmas. This is my year to have them with me.. to wake up Christmas morning... etc. So, yesterday was a real low point... but, today is here... and, now... I've got to return to my quest to achieve success... spiritually, emotionally, inter-personally and .. financially (because that is what I want my children to "see" when they get older and try to figure this out for themselves). OK.. that's it.. I've got to go or I'll just keep typing. Merry Christmas all. (And thanks for starting this one CD... great topic.) |

| Posted over 5 years ago TCN, I like you could go on and on with this topic. You have a great post here. I also was in foster care my whole life and the first in generations to graduate from high school. I tell everyone over and over: Never forget where you came from and never forget your dream. I too believe in not being a "victim" Too many will use their background as an excuse for awful behaivor and poor choices. |

| Posted over 5 years ago Success is the act of persevering through unforeseeable challenges both internal and external. It is a mindset of firm resolves guided by integrity, clarity and most of all patience. Its knowing that what you ultimately want will be of benefit to you and those around you. True success is something that is shared, even if, you had to go through hell with gasoline underwear on, to achieve it. Success is fulfilling the Creator's intended design and purpose. Hence, one should have a strong and intimate Spiritual life, in order to be truly successful. Oh, btw... I am by no means referring to any specific religion, dogma or doctrine. The later ofttimes blurs are true selves and what we should be focused on, with regard to our destinies. |

| Posted over 5 years ago To me success is most difficult to measure. It is something that is progressive and sometimes translucent. I feel that I am, in a way, a "success in progress." To many finding success is an incredible journey, to others, I believe, success sometimes finds them. |
