Approximately, 20 years ago, I began Nursing school, with much motivation and enthusiasm. I volunteered in my city's trauma center and subsequently went on to be a nursing student working in one of the most exciting trauma specialties in the field, following my acceptance into nursing school. Within 1.5 years of working in this environment, I saw enough indifference towards patients, even negligence, resulting in the death of a young man, that I decided that nursing mayn't be my passion after all. 20 years later, and after completing my Master degree in Public Health, I've realized that Nursing is for me and I am certainly for Nursing. I love the profession. I am a natural. However, after losing my wife, 5 days after she delivered our 4th child. My anger returned. I witnessed the same apathy and indifference, I witnessed prior, and now wrestled with what was my passion while trying to manage some of the most unimaginable pain ever. As I am about to apply to Nursing school again, to finish my degree, I ask you for your insights into what I've shared and humbly ask for insight into, what is truly going to an emotional challenge for me..... PS... I love Nursing...did I say that?!
