I am thinking about going to school to become an LPN, then working as an LPN while I'm going to school to become an RN.  I know it would be a steady income while I'm in school, but is it even possible to do this?  What hours do LPNs usually work?

I know this is an somewhat old post, but I just felt moved to say something. I worked full time night shift as a CNA in the hospital while I was a full time nursing student. I completed my LPN certificate and began work at siad hospital as an LPN. I was unable to remain there to complete my last year for my ADN, but in my new home, I have applied to a local community college to rectify that. I plan on working full time again, as a shift coordinator (read long hours) while again going to school full time. I know it can be done. I look back know and think "How the heck did I do that?".  Good luck!
