A funny story for me.

I was a very young and green nurse working in the ER, a MI patient was ordered morphine IV.  I had never pushed morphine and I was very cautious, I slowly pushed the 2mgs, I kept watching her face and vitals, my heart was pounding.  Suddenly she closed her eyes, I called her name, she didn't respond.  I stopped pushing, I had only given about 1 mg.  Another nurse walked by, I told her I had to stop pushing the drug because she became non-responsive....the patient heard me and opened her eyes, angry at me she told me she had not "passed out, but was praying!"   Moral of the story to patients (Don't pray while a new nurse is pushing a narcotic)
