Most recently the hospital that I am working closed the pediactric floor.
It is a level II hospital in an urban setting in the NY Metropolitan area.
I work for micu/sicu where unfortunalely there is GSW and trauma involvingchildren under 13 yo. My question is should a child of this age
be accepted in an adult unit? It has cause some controversy among the R.N.s because they are not PALS certified. What are the legal implications and what is the proper protocol if there is no pediatric nurse or pals certified one available?
