Posted about 3 years ago I made this anonymous so that the many people who do not support Obama will feel free and safe to express their views and opinions without being berated.

Posted about 3 years ago I STILL STRONGLY BELIEVE IN NOT ADDING FUEL 2 THE FIRE, BESSIDES EVERYONE HAS AN OPINION AND YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT THAT!

Posted about 3 years ago Pritchett's letter resembles an argument--an ad hominem argument. In this case, it's fallacious, and conspicuously so. How is it possible that people believe this kind of pap? How is it possible that Pritchett would mangle his credibility by publishing it? For the person who posted this letter on NL: you're a mark--you're the person I would target if I wanted to con someone out of a dollar or a vote or a favor.

Posted about 3 years ago How sad that one cannot feel free to express their opinion openly and without being belittled for having an opinion, which one is clearly entitled to. That is why one makes a forum as this anonymous....interesting!

Posted about 3 years ago Wow, what a letter and also what comments. I fully expected some really nasty comments by both Obama supporters and detractors. Especially since this is anonymous. Maybe the posters on NL have calmed down a little since Obama was first elected.

Posted about 3 years ago Maybe Obama supporters have calmed down becasue it's become painfully obvious that they made a terrible mistake.

| Posted about 3 years ago Forget whether you are for or against Obama for a moment. Suppose the subject of Pritchett's letter had been someone else--maybe Lassie, or the devil, or Mark Twain, or _____ (fill in the blank). The letter would still be a hatchet job, which is defined informally as "a biased, malicious attack on the character or activities of a person, institution, etc." This kind of stuff preys on your emotions. It doesn't warrant the stature of an opinion. If you didn't quickly spot the letter as crude and manipulative, identify yourselves to me. I have land for you to buy, also a bridge in Brooklyn, and many of those leftover worthless mortgage loans that almost sank Wall Street. P.T. Barnum was thinking of you when he said, "There's a sucker born every minute."

Posted about 3 years ago I don't see this as manipulative at all, but then that's my opinion, which according to previous posts I guess I am no longer entitled to have.

Posted about 3 years ago The post above mine is the actual embodiment of the world's saddest song played on the world's tiniest violin. There seems to be a certain breed of commenter on this site (and in the public right now in general) that sees formalized disagreement as oppression. If someone disagreeing with you is the most oppressed you ever get, consider yourself lucky. Someone pointing out rhetoric and straw men has nothing to do with the validity of dissent with any political point of view or any particular bill. It's holding having an opinion to the standard of requiring that you are able to express it like an intelligent adult and NOT rely on predatory emotional response to get your point across. Is there anything wrong with expecting people to have a conversation instead of bullying one another into consent through fear-mongering? Jeeze louise...

| Posted about 3 years ago What makes people think that calumny qualifies as opinion? Why would anyone debate vilification, and not abhor it? God save us from the gullible, and God save the gullible from themselves.

Posted about 3 years ago Pres Obama doesn't scare me however his followers do !!they seem way more out of it than he does!! Pres Obama is the product of our last 40 years of public school. teaching children that its not okay to fight back when bullied and just run to the office screaming "hate speech" does little for ones self esteem. teaching children that its okay to not say the pledge of allegiance and that its okay to take something that isn't yours cuz "its time to spread the wealth around." and that teaching kindergarteners about sex ed is necessary. these are our problems we have created them without the help of Pres Obama and now these little whipper snappers are all growed up and voting just how they were taught by the public school system. Why should any of us blame Pres Obama? he is a tool that is all!the devil is in the details here people.

Posted about 3 years ago Unfortunatly what this letter states is for the most part true and what truly scares me is those who posted their comments about hate and not verbalizing an opinion when it is contrary has become the norm. When our president was running for office you were not allowed to find anything about his wife or children but it was ok to smear president Bush and his family. No one looked into Ms Obama's tenure at university of chicago but we were able to ask questions about Ms Bush and all of the other people running. This what is good for one but not for me attitude is what is killing the country. We all have to be equal and have wealth but not work for it sense of entitlement has to end. Who are the ones paying for his lack of experience, the average tax payer who loose their homes and jobs now more then ever before. Stop the crying foul and remember those in charge lead the country by understanding and example no just mear words.

Posted almost 3 years ago Well, I just came to NL after a 'vacation that my husband felt important and I had no internet access or access to sharp objects' so I have nothing bad to say tonight regarding anybody political; look at my name! LOL...........hey, its anon. I crack myself up. I remember I use to get torn up over the elections. My last MRI showed the lesions on my white matter on the brain <well, I guess ya figured out I was talking about a brain> after the diagnosis of MS and 3 weekly subq injections of rat poison.............I lost alot of my anger at the party I didn't vote for, and now enjoy reruns of desparate housewives and greys anatomy..so whats up with making up a forum anon? Sounds like a good idea, the only thing.........I type stuff in like I type, it goes on and wont shut up. btw, Its happy2behere, aka angie. I I have the short term memory of a turnip so anything anybody has against me for my big mouth, I dont remember it, k?

Posted almost 3 years ago I think we all set high standards by which we judge others especially leaders, and yes most especially the President of the U.S. Wouldn't it be awesome if we all would first strive to reach those same high standards in our own lives before we judge others? Maybe we would go a little easier on others when we realize what a struggle it really is to get where we want to be, and for others to get to where we or they expect them to be in life. It is always easier to expect others to get 'er done. I have to stop and ask myself: What have I done today to make my own life, family, community, workplace, country or world a better place to live in?

Posted almost 3 years ago Well, maybe we can whine and groan about our elected leaders, but what if we had a country like that turd Chavez or whats his name down in South America. At least if we are bullied at the polls when we vote and somebody is behaving badly its on Fox news or even CNN if they grew a pair. Yall have a good evening, Angie as in Happy2beHere <I could never be truly anon, that would be no fun>
