Does anyone know whether the State of Tennessee has loan forgiveness policies?  I noticed an article about California....

Im not sure about TN, but in Georgia we have loan forgiveness or whatever it is, and the stipend was you had to work it off in the state of Georgia and after I graduated I hounded the loan bloodsuckers after each annual quarter I worked.  I had to hound the heck out of them to keep up with the paperwork and documentation...............good luck.  Just check the rules and and follow them.  I had a pal who took out a bunch of loans link me <we bonded with the both being broke single parents while in the soul ripping issue of nursing school.  6 monthes after grad date, she booked to Nashville and had to pay off every red cent>>.   Im pretty sick of summer in Georgia.................102 fricken digrees is miserable, but Im glad I did shave off 2 years of payments a long time ago.

Loan forgiveness.......don't take any advice from Cali, as we are in ruin.  Just a word of advice.

There is a government program that helps you pay off part of your nursing loans.  You have to go through an application process.  There are time limits of when you can apply.  I'm not sure of the entire process or what's needed, but here is the website

www.hrsa.gov/loanscholarships/repayment/nursing/

You can also contact the state board of nursing and check out the state government websites for info.  Most of the time in order to qualify you have to be willing to work in an underpriviledged area or an area that has a shortage of healthcare workers (at least that is my understanding).

Good luck!
