Posted over 1 year ago Wow, I have been so busy that I didn't realize how long it had been since I updated this :) I am happy to say that I have finally made it to Block IV!!! I am in the middle of writing my "Philosophy of Nursing/Lifelong Learning" essay for my portfolio. Lots of papers and project this semester... Any tips or ideas for more efficient ways to study or test taking strategies would be great. I did some struggling last semester and want to improve my grades. I did thousands of NCLEX questions, went over Power Points the instructors gave us and used flashcards for things like lab values but it didn't seem to help much. Keep your fingers crossed that I make it through this next hurdle ;-P

Posted over 1 year ago It is great to hear comments from nurses and students that have similar stories to my own. It made me feel better today. I am 43yr single mom , at this time I am only taking once class at a time. There was a time period of 5years that I stopped school was adament that I was not going to become a nurse. also when I was a child my mom was a nurse, that is an other story :). I worked in an adult er, trauma center. When I first began I couldnt believe how terrible the nurses were treated. Then 5yrs later I have my son change jobs and try again, The funnies in this story could go on for pages, but we'll stop here. GOOD LUCK to every one trying, I may just another day. ksa

Posted over 1 year ago ksa1, you got my attention when you mention the ER.. Trauma is my true love and yes I admit I am a trauma junkie.. Yes, nurses get rolled on, but just stand up for yourself.. Believe me the rest of the staff respects that.. Hugs,Teresa

| Posted over 1 year ago Good for you going for a dream in a profession that is needing more people all the time. I am a male older than you. I am 56 taking a CNA class now, have been a caregiver for years and then want to work as a CNA and take classes to get my LPN at least. I feel better than never and hope I can do it and only wish I done it years and years ago. I am in Arizona. Best of luck to you, I am sure you will do fine.

Posted 6 months ago Hi, I think this post is great inspiration to all the students that pursues nursing as a career, not as a job, but also a passion. Being able to go back to school and have the fire to take the classes that seems to daunting proves that age is just a number. In addition, caring is a universal value that we all could learn if we put the time and effort towards it. I'm 19 years old, finishing my prerequisites for Nursing in a local community college and individuals like Riverdance serves great inspiration! Cheers and Congrats!
