Great Book I should have learned about

Posted about 3 years ago I just heard about this book titled "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks." It's a great book and I am wondering why I haven't heard about this book in nursing school, biology, chemistry, microbiology etc. The book is a true story about the first human cells and all the great scientific and health care advances that have come from these cells. Henrietta Lacks is the women who these cells were taken from without permission. Her cells have grown and mutiplied and have made lots of money but her family is not part of this fortune. I would think that this is a story that would have been very interesting to learn about in biology or nursing school. Possibly the nursing research, cancer or just informative information in nursing school. |

| Posted about 3 years ago It probably would make a rather dramatic movie, right? This book tells the story of a huge ethical dilemma... which is a very touchy subject. I couldn't find that book, but saw others by the same author. I would consider reading it if I could find it! -Angela--'--,--{@ |

| Posted almost 3 years ago I have read the book “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks“, by Rebecca Skloot. It is an awesome reading experience I got from the book. The story of Henrietta, the owner of the first immortal human cells grown up in culture, is interesting. Because she died before years but still her cells are alive in the world. Complete informative book to read and get lot from it.
