I messed up college, but I got 2 bachelors degrees with a terrible gpa...  do you think there's any chance with nursing school if I got all prereq A except for Chem B?  ... or I can also go back to do Chem again....

Hi there,

Well, it all depends.  Some schools only require a 2.0-2.5 overall gpa, but your science prereqs need to be within the last 5 years of applying.  Almost every schools has different requirements, so check with the school you want to attend and you may be surprised.  Good luck!

Even if you have to repeat some subjects, it'll all be worth it in the end.

The nursing school I'm planning to attend does not look at the GPA you have for previous degrees. They focus on the GPA you have for the prerequisites they require you to complete before you can apply to their program. Even if you already have taken some prerequisite classes, like chemistry, they may not transfer for credit and you'll have to take them again anyway so the low grade in an earlier class won't matter. You should talk to an admissions counselor at the school(s) you're planning to attend, or see if there's any information about this on the nursing program's website.
