Has anyone heard of, or used the MDG medical system for pharmacy? Its like a Piyxis or Omnicell.... we got it at our hospital and it has been nothing but trouble!!!!!!! breaks down all the time. Impossible to interface. but they sure sold a bag of goods to us with the sales staff!!!! half the price of Piyxis. More security......yea, its so secure, we can't even get meds out for patients that need them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

any have any experience with this system?? I would love to hear.

we currently interface (or not so much interface!) with MEDITECH computer system. But are looking at CPSI computer system for our Electronic med record.

This has been a year now, and MDG can't even get our patient allergies to cross over the interface. It has proven to be a very unsafe system for our hospital. Just wondering if anyone else has had any dealings with them?

And it broke down again today!   When I left, Pharmacy was waiting for interface to fix issues, so patients showed in the system, so they could key in medications.  And they had to hand fill meds for nursing staff as they were due....

many years ago we had a pharmacy manager that was elevated to her highest level of incompetance. the nurses kept meticulous records of the sentinel events and over the course of a year and several deaths we managed to stuff both the manager and her machine in a large hole somewhere in nebraska HA HA just kidding but we did get rid of her and the machine!

I wouldn't mind keeping the Pharmacy manager, but is that hole large enough to stuff this machine in!

" Privately contracted, I occasionally would work for a LTC facility which had this system for approximately

four months for their staff-> they finally removed the system, entirely.

State that," system is too complex, when transferring New Orders, tracking Monthly Med Records and, also,

prone to losing Medical Records, especially during," brown-outs and power failures".

*** Thus, Back to the Drawing Board".
