This is for CaptainEricRN or anyone who would know  misdemeanors

i am ina  4 year bsn program

i was arrested last yr for shoplifting  in NEW JERSEY!

i was 20 and im 21 now, i took abt $30 worth of stuff deodorant , tooth paste  lotion, tooth brushes for my little sisters.

I know it was very a very silly thing to do!

and while in nursing school. and i started clinicals  and had a background check  but before i was arressted.

i was applying for a job and talked to my nursing advisor whether or not i should mention to the hospital that i was a criminal record or wait until to tell them.

My advisor didnt know i was arrested and told me i might not be a ble to go to clinicals next semste  I HAVE TWO MORE YEARS TO GO)r bc i have a record and the hospitasl we do clincials in have a agreement that everyone has a clear record. He  said he weould talk to the people and let me know. but it doesnt mean the hopsital would accept me if there were aware of the situation..

i think the school doesnt want a bad name maybe and so they will try to kick me out the program

i dont know what to do now.  is there anyway i can get if explunge before september or a way i can  still do clincials and graduate from nursing school

Anonymous,

At your age, you're prone to making bad mistakes. Let me set aside just and unjust, right and wrong for a moment. When you stole those goods, you almost certainly didn't realize you were flirting with some harsh consequences.

And also some unintended consequences. But here's some things that the administrators that run your program might be wondering if they wind up deciding your outcome:   did Anonymous develop much better judgment practically overnight? can we trust someone again who has rolled the dice with her career for some petty gain? why should we give Anonymous a pass this time?

What will you say to a skeptic? I'm sorry? It was a silly thing to do? I'll conform? I've become a better person? My judgment is all better now? How about giving me three strikes? Can you not see my infinite depth and value?

Chances are, like practically everyone else, you can't afford to fail. So do what you have to do. Try and grease some wheels. Save yourself if you can. But ask yourself, are you ready to do what's necessary to earn trust anew each day from now on?
