Posted about 3 years ago With the new law stating we are required to have health insurance or be fined come income tax time (at least from what I've heard). Where is the best place to look for health insurance (affordable)? I'm a nursing student without coverage and married. But health insurance plans run 300 dollars a month. We can't afford that. Where can i look? I do need coverage considering I work with children everyday and get ever sickness they bring to school with them. Not to mention, the pre-clinical requirements for shots and the like. Any ideas? |

| Posted about 3 years ago Anonymous, this site is very handy and well-written: Consumer Reports' Health.org. They publish a "timeline" at the following: http://www.consumerreports.org/health/insurance/health-insurance.htm I wish I had known about it for myself, earlier. I can't guarantee that this site has a feature for finding your best deal, but it's a very promising site to surf for it.
Also, there are now instructions at various websites for getting your health insurer to make good--pay--on its coverage. Here's one ("What to do if your insurance plan rejects your medical claims.") http://www.smartmoney.com/personal-finance/health-care/?topic=healt... This site also appears to have great tips. --lunarcaustic
