Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States—it kills more than 25 percent of all people. It’s an astoundingly high number, especially for a disease that can be managed by simple factors like diet and exercise. Many people think that heart disease is a man’s disease, but it actually affects women more than men. That’s just one of the many myths about heart disease that must be dispelled in order to promote prevention.
